The word ASHA means Hope, we strive to instill hope in each of the children we protect.

This program cares for 50 children from the slums of Benares, both boys and girls aged 6 to 20.

The Asha program lives up to its name.

Asha is committed to bringing a breath of hope into the lives of the 50 children it supports in the slums of Varanasi. They come from disadvantaged backgrounds where families, often illiterate and without steady income, aspire to a better world for their children.

The program guarantees their access to education.

All the children are enrolled in schools and tutoring centers, benefiting from daily academic support, including during holidays.

Asha places great importance on their health, ensuring they have regular check-ups: vaccinations, dental care and vision checks, follow-up on prescribed medical treatments, and nutritional supplements in the form of fruits or vitamin-enriched biscuits for their daily snacks.

Asha's education goes beyond the classroom.

Older children have the opportunity to learn computing and receive vocational training. Their extracurricular activities are rich and varied, including sports and music.

Every Saturday, the boys train in cricket with Vikas, a program alumnus now a business owner and father. On Sundays, tabla and kathak—traditional dance from northern India—are available to all thanks to the talent of Mata Prasad Mishra, a renowned dancer and percussionist in Benares who has repeatedly discovered true talents among our children.

Each child in the Asha program benefits from the support of one or more sponsors who contribute to their school fees, creating a precious bond between them and the child.

Health needs, warm clothing for winter, and extracurricular activities are funded through the generosity of donors who ensure the well-being and growth of the children.

Becoming a sponsor of a child in the Asha program means offering them the opportunity to change their destiny by providing them with the tools necessary to build their future.

Sponsoring a child is a gesture of Hope that carries within it the promise of a better world.
